Your adventurers might discover bandits occupying the remains and using its ruined chambers as a hideout. The party could seek shelter here for the night, only to discover they aren't alone. Perhaps forgotten knowledge or an ancient artifact still lies somewhere within its depths. On the battlefield, the fort becomes a massive centerpiece as opposing armies clash through its corridors, fight for its elevated positions, and battle around its crumbling walls.
